Lovely beds in our double room. Fairly new bathroom with a bathtub. Exceptional, marvellous location in Oxford, not far from cinema, Oxford, and the city centre. Also, near to bus station.

Great-sized and well furnished rooms with the bath as well as tea, had a good stay for the price. Very central location right next to a fantastic cocktail bar.

Enjoyed the place, had a GREAT stay for the price. The room we had was en suite and warm and complete with tableware, private bathroom, for example. The location was marvellous and unbeatable, relatively close to a historic botanic garden.

It's in a very convenient location in the City centre.
It's very scruffy and down-market but one can probably not expect more for the price they charge. Not having an en-suite shower/toilet facility is a major disadvantage.

Excelent location for business and academic visitors as me: convenient access directly or by local buses to different universities and colleges, shopping centers, etc.
Weak ventillation

The entrance is marked by a haphazardly taped paper sign, giving a rough first impression. Inside, the rooms lack basic upkeep with walls marked by scratches and damage, not to mention the furniture showing signs of wear. I noticed persistent mechanical noises from above, disrupting sleep, compounded by constant thumping from the bar below. The bathroom had significant mold, a problem that seemed hard to ignore. A dysfunctional shower that leaked everywhere. For a place that should provide a restful stay, it falls short in cleanliness, comfort, and quiet-making it a challenge to recommend.

It is central to the city and reasonably priced.
I was not shown to my room for which I had to go outside into the street after booking in at the bar/reception and in through another external locked door and up stairs and a bit of a rabbit warren to find my room. The bedroom window was tucked in the corner behind the wardrobe and the view was over the courtyard that was enclosed by tall buidlings and had mechanical plant making a continuous background noise, but not too loud that you couldn't quickly get used to it. The TV only offered the basic 5 terestrial channels and not the best quality pictures either. Arriving at breakfast the waitress could have been a bit more helpful and welcoming in explaining what was on offer and how the system worked. I was not offered any extra toast after a cooked breakfast, although there was jam and marmalade on every table. By then the waitress was nowhere to be seen to ask. The hotel is basic but worth it for a couple of nights because of the great location. Not a main hoiday venue though.

The hotel is quite close both to the station and the city centre. Our room was spacious, clean and quite comfortable.
It was quite cold in the night and the heater in the room didn't work. Blankets were very good though. Also it was very noisy outside in the night, so we didn't get much sleep (not the fault of the hotel staff, of course, - students have just returned from the summer holiday and were obviously glad to see each other).

Its location was fantastic, close to all important landmarks and sites, right in the centre of Oxford. The breakfast was also very good. The room was big and clean.
The hotel would be better if it was less noisy in the evenings and if the window in the bathroom could open. A clearly marked check-in area would have been helpful as well as a tourist information section with maps etc.

Location was convenient for bus and city.
Difficult to access rooms with suitcases. Locks in doors did not work easily. Bed was very poor. Was very loud in room until after midnight. Cable TV had one channel. Promised but no functional Internet access.

Very noisy Directly on top of a bar that plays loud music till 12pm, which if you are staying on the first floor you can here. Even if you are staying on one of the higher floors you get sound from the main bus station, which the hotel looks over as well a main road of bars and clubs.
